Tradition. You have to love it, especially when it means you can put Summer Time fun on your calendar. Get ready to eat, ride rides, bring family and friends and enjoy a Connecticut tradition that rolls back into New Fairfield next week.

The New Fairfield Lions Club will host its biggest annual fundraiser. Dubbed the “olde-tyme” carnival, it arrives staring Tuesday July 18 and runs until Saturday July 22. If you've been before, you know the drill, but just in case you're new to this neck of the woods, here's the lowdown.

The Olde Tyme Carnival takes place at the Consolidated School Field located on 12 Gillotti Road in New Fairfield. According to the New Fairfield Lions Club website ride bracelets are sold and food is served beginning at 6 p.m. and the carnival closes each night at 10:30 p.m. Admission is free however for the good times.

The awesome rides, perfect for everyone. are provided by Stewart Amusement and there's even music from local bands.

Now put those dates on your "to-do" list and get ready for some another great Connecticut tradition. Sometimes it is very good to be in the "land of steady habits!"
