The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for our area.

**ENHANCED RISK FOR BRUSH FIRE SPREAD THIS AFTERNOON**

Dry conditions combined with low relative humidity values and wind gusts could result in brush fires which could spread quickly.

The combination of dry conditions over the last 10 days, minimum
relative humidity values falling to 25 to 35 percent, and frequent
gusts of 25 to 30 mph will result in an elevated threat of brush
fire spread across the area this afternoon. -National Weather Service

In April of 2016, there was a brush fire right outside of our radio stations. Within 30 seconds it went from a strange "bend" in the air, then smoke, then spark to the whole field being in flames! It was so scary how quickly it spread. By the time I called 911, it was a full-fledged brush fire. Thankfully, Brookfield Volunteer Fire Department was there within seconds and quickly brought this inferno under control. You can watch the video from that day below.
