In the age of EBay, Craigslist and the like, there are way too many things that can go wrong. The fact is, you don't know who are dealing with on either the buying or selling end. A local police department has stepped up, once again, to insure the safety and security of their residents.

I have lived and worked in Brookfield since 2002, so I know that this town is a beautiful place to live, work and raise a family. I came across something in my Facebook feed that made me proud of their Police Department once again.

The Brookfield Police Department has answered the need for a safe place for its residents to conduct private transactions and have designated their lobby and parking lot as an E-Commerce Safe Zone. This allows residents to meet in a well-lit area that is under 24-hour surveillance.

See something you like on EBay? Selling something on Craigslist? Ask the other party to meet at the E-Commerce Safe Zone at Brookfield Police Department. If they decline, that may be a huge red flag that maybe this is not such a safe transaction.
