I understand that ordering merchandise online in the comfort of your own home doesn't require any effort on your part. But shopping local as SO many incredible benefits.

This Saturday, November 25 is "Small Business Saturday"which is a day to support your local small businesses and all the good they do for your community.

I understand that it can sometimes be much more convenient and even less expensive to shop online. I'm an Amazon Prime member, and I'm certainly not going to apologize for being one. I also shop locally in New Fairfield and throughout Greater Danbury and have become friends with some of my local merchants and that is the key difference — friendly, person-to-person interaction.

Here are 10 awesome Greater Danbury businesses that would love the support on Small Business Saturday:

Before you drop $125 on a ticket to a show in NYC, give the gorgeous Palace Theatre in Danbury at 165 Main St. a try. Pour Me Coffee and Wine Cafe

This new Danbury restaurant, Pour Me at 274 Main St. in downtown Danbury is an absolute winner. The owner, Andrea Gartner, the former Director of City Center Danbury has hired a master chef and this Yelp reviewer says it all.

Amazing food and drink selection which includes chia seed smoothies, all day burritos, paninis, and light fare options too! I'll definitely be back soon.
